AYM Socal Volleyball Tournament π March 2025
We kicked off our very first AYM Socal Volleyball Tournament this past weekend, and it was a huge success! With 12 teams competing from Orange County, Pomona, Riverside, and LA, this was our biggest tournament yet.
For many students, the tournament was an opportunity to connect with other high schoolers who share a passion for volleyball while learning the importance of teamwork. For others, it was a chance to reunite with old friends and chase the gold together!
During game downtimes, our AYM mentors kept the energy high with fun outdoor activities, including vertical jump challenges and games. They also ran a booth to share details about our Thrive mentorship program and offered thought-provoking insights on big life questions through apologetics discussions.
The competition was fierce! A huge thank you to our referees, scorekeepers, and coaches for keeping the teams motivated and ensuring the games ran smoothly!
At halftime, Brian delivered a special talk on the true purpose of life and what we were made for: a relationship with God. Several coaches shared their personal stories of how the Gospel reshaped their lifeβs purpose, sparking meaningful conversations about how each player saw their own purpose and vision for the future.
The knockout rounds were intense, with four teams advancing to the semi-finals: Chicken Noodle, Red Robin, Sofiaβs House, and Woodbridge Frosh. After an exhilarating finish, weβre excited to announce the champions of our first-ever AYM Socal Volleyball Tournament: Chicken Noodle!
We celebrated the win with a special Gatorade dunking for Coach Mike!
Thanks for joining us this weekend! π
